Becton Dickinson + GPTW — Engaging the team in achievements? See how BD did it.

It is not enough to be recognized, you have to recognize.
How to promote an award featuring employees as protagonists.

BD, a 122-year-old medical technology company, has earned the title of the 4th best organization to work for in the healthcare sector—an unprecedented achievement.

The award was presented by GPTW and was made possible only by the record participation of more than 85% BD employees in the survey.

CHALLENGE:

When Sabiá received the request to publicize this achievement, it realized that the biggest challenge was creating a plan that put the employee at the center of this victory, awakening a sense of belonging.

After all, the campaign was supposed to be more than just the promotion of yet another award; it should have been the celebration of a strong partnership.

THE CAMPAIGN:

To value good work and recognize the importance of our employees, we work to ensure that each of them is always present as a protagonist.

We literally involved every employee in the creation of each of the dozens of pieces and activations, making their importance in this achievement clear!

CHECK OUT A BIT OF WHAT WENT DOWN:

  • The newsletter, delivered bimonthly by BD, had an exclusive version with a commemorative cover including the name of the recipient employee.

  • Mug with employees' names delivered to them, connecting the campaign launch also to the reduction of plastic consumption.

  • We created an interactive board where each employee pasted their name, showing they were part of this special moment of achievement.

  • The internal vignettes featured the names of the collaborators, as well as the background of each of the pieces produced.

  • The motto of the “We Are BD. We Are GPTW” campaign reinforced the sense of belonging, showing that everyone was the owner of this title.

RESULTS

  • The engagement in all the actions carried out was surprising; the panel with the names was quickly filled, and the personalized mugs and newsletters were in high demand.
  • All BD units were integrated and many employees shared photos of this moment on their social media.
  • We, Sabiá and BD, managed to engage nearly 2,000 employees in the same atmosphere of pride and admiration.
